I took a short break for medical reasons and am back.

Medical:


Suicide.  Every 16 minutes someone in the United States commits suicide; each year about 5,000 are veterans.
The VA has established a comprehensive suicide- prevention program, which includes coordinators at every VA medical center, pocket-sized suicide risk-assessment cards, and a national suicide-prevention hotline.  The center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with an option to speak to a veteran at all times.
The American Legion plays a key role in the fight to prevent suicide among veterans, by taking part in VA's SAVE program: search for possible signs of suicide, ask questions, validateencourage treatment and expedite the process of getting help. the life of a potential suicide victim, and
Suicide risk assessment is a process, not an event.  Most suicide ideas are associated with the presence of an underlying, treatable disorder.

AWAK= Automated Wearable Artificial Kidney
This devise removes toxins and excess fluid from the blood for those whose kidneys can no longer do the job.
A special salt solution is infused into the abdomen, where it picks up waste from the blood.  The solution is drained from the abdomen and purified.  The clean solution is returned to the abdomen, this is continued indefinitely.  The patient replaces the "sorbient" cartridge every few hours and change the battery which rund the pump.

Wreaths Across America
What started off as a wreath laying gesture at the Arlington National Cemetery is spreading across the country. 
Beginning in November Christmas wreaths, some donated my wreath manufacturers, some discounted and payed for by local business' and community organizations, are being placed on our hero's head stones at the National cemeteries across the country.
